A huge game yesterday at Helsby FC: Helsby's First Team entertained league leaders Runcorn Sports, who were six points ahead. However, second-placed Helsby had three games in hand - a title game if ever there was one and also a local derby to add to the spice of the occasion.

The conditions were horrendous when the game kicked off - monsoon-like at times with heavy rain and storms circulating in the air.

On a beautiful sunny Saturday (17 April), the resurgent Helsby FC First Team entertained Poulton Royal Reserves who had drawn with League leaders Runcorn Sports this week.

Helsby are currently in sixth place but with five games in hand on some of the league leaders they are just six points behind. The gap is certainly closing every game so every point is now vitally important.

Another land mark game for Helsby FC today (Saturday). This time it was the Reserves against Hoole FC on the new pitch.

The lads started positively and within five minutes the ball was slotted home for a great goal.

Helsby's First Team entertained League leaders Marshalls Reserves at the amazing, brand new sports complex and pitch at Callender Way on Saturday.

Helsby Tennis Club has been named Club of the Year in the Cheshire Lawn Tennis Association 2020/21 Awards.

Presenting the award, LTA Councillor for Cheshire, Liz Sweeting said: "Helsby has been mentioned with regard to its work in the community via Castle Park, and the club has excelled in many areas, despite the enormous challenges of Covid.

After years upon year of careful planning, months of building work and three frustrating lockdowns, Helsby Community Sports Club's brand-new clubhouse is finally able to open its outdoor pitches from Monday.

The new development is home to all sorts of state-of-the-art facilities, with a floodlit 3G pitch, artificial bowls greens, rugby pitches and tennis courts, as well as the clubhouse itself.

Runcorn Rowing Club are planning a virtual escape from lockdown to raise money for their new boathouse.

The club aims to row, paddle, run, walk and cycle the 16,521km to Runcorn in Brisbane, Australia, in order to raise £10,000 towards the planning application for its new clubhouse.

On Saturday 21st November, the old Helsby Community Sports Club was cleared, ready for the move into the new development.

Helsby Golf Club is delighted to announce the appointment of John O'Neill as the new Head Professional at the Towers Lane club.

John replaces the former Professional, Chris Cousins, who along with Anthony Dempsey (Assistant Professional) has moved to a new role at Beau Desert Golf Club in Staffordshire.

Helsby FC Reserves entertained Princes Villa JFC today (Saturday 24th October), and what a performance by the Green Machine!

The game started in a constant drizzle and on 5 minutes Keelan Densmore fired the ball home from the back post. As the heavens opened so did the Princes defence.
