Frodsham festival Castle Park Live has been put back to Saturday 7 August after Cheshire West and Chester Council was placed under enhanced government support in its fight against local Delta variant outbreaks of Covid-19.

Castle Park Live had been planned to comply with current lockdown restrictions on social gatherings, but Cheshire West's rapidly rising coronavirus case rates made it difficult for the borough council to guarantee that the event would be able to take place.

Of the 381 coronavirus cases recorded across Cheshire West in the week leading up to 10 June, 10 originated from Frodsham and Helsby.

In Frodsham, four new cases made for a rolling infection rate of 44 per 100,000, while in the area covering Helsby, Kingsley, Manley and Alvanley, six positive test results resulted in a rate of 65 per 100,000.
