Frodsham Heroes: The Knoll Surgery and its vaccination team!

By The Editor

18th Jun 2021 | Local News

A few weeks ago, we used our Frodsham Heroes feature to thank Knoll Surgery nurse, Janis Lawless for her "calming reassurance" and "first-class nursing services."

Now, a local resident has asked to nominate the whole Knoll healthcare team for all their work in administering Covid vaccines to the people of Frodsham and its surrounding villages.

Since 300 healthcare workers and over-80s were vaccinated on the first day of the rollout in December 2020, Frodsham and Helsby's vaccination teams at the Princeway site have been working tirelessly to get local residents inoculated against the virus, and their efforts are reflected in the local uptake.

By June 3, 98 per cent of Frodsham over-80s have been vaccinated, compared to a Cheshire West average of 97 per cent.

Meanwhile, 90 per cent of Frodsham 50 to 59-year-olds have had at least one dose, while in Cheshire West as a whole, the figure stands at 88 per cent.

96 per cent of Frodsham's clinically extremely vulnerable population have also been vaccinated, along with 87 per cent of those who fall into the 'at risk' category.

Thank you to our local GPs, nurses and vaccination centre teams for making the rollout such a great success!

If you know of a Frodsham Hero who you would like to celebrate, just email [email protected] with your nomination!
