Local residents will now be able to pick up library books to read over lockdown, as Frodsham Library begins its order and collect service tomorrow (Thursday 7 January).

When placing an order, you can decide which type and format of book you would like to receive, and the library staff will try to match you up with something to your liking!

Three weeks since the first Covid-19 vaccine doses were administered in Frodsham and Helsby, sixteen new GP-led services have now been rolled out across Cheshire.

This comes as both The Knoll and Helsby and Elton Practice notified patients that appointments for those over 80 who have been invited for their second dose this week will be honoured.

Frodsham and District Open Hands will still be operating in this third lockdown, as volunteers continue to deliver shopping and run small errands for people who are in need of such support.

The Open Hands group was set up during the first coronavirus lockdown, when Frodsham Churches Together and Frodsham Town Council teamed up with a group of local volunteers hoping to help those who found themselves isolated due to the pandemic.

Last night, as coronavirus cases soared across our region, Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a new national lockdown in England.

In the week leading up to December 30, there were 19 new cases recorded in Frodsham, which was an increase of seven on the previous week and which resulted in a rolling rate of 207 per 100,000 people.
