We all know that Frodsham, with its pretty high street and arts centre, its amazing businesses, rich history and lovely countryside, is a very special place to live.
Almost two-thirds of beds at the Countess of Chester are occupied by patients with Covid-19, according to its Chief Executive.
Dr Susan Gilby, who runs the Countess of Chester NHS Trust, tweeted on Sunday evening: "A week on from my plea from Chester — now 61 per cent of our beds are occupied by patients who have Covid-19 disease.

Local police teams have this weekend been operating roadside speed cameras around Helsby, catching several drivers travelling above the speed limit.
On Saturday, a Trucam speed gun on the A56 towards Chester in Dunham-on-the-Hill caught 11 speeding vehicles, one of which was travelling at 53 miles per hour.

Local businesses forced to close during the national lockdown are able to apply for a grant from the Cheshire West Covid Support for Businesses scheme.
It is important that businesses who had submitted an online application and received a grant before 31 December 2020, when the borough was under Tier 2 and Tier 3 restrictions, reapply for a grant now they have had to close.

Cheshire West and Chester Council would like to know your views on the management of wildflower planting, parks, open spaces and outdoor play areas in our area.
The Council plans to produce an overarching Environmental Management Strategy for Council-owned land and facilities, which will include a review of its current Play Strategy, a Wildflower and Grassland Strategy, and a Parks and Greenspaces Strategy.

The ever-optimistic Ho Ho Helsby volunteer group has tentatively marked the date 26 June 2021, 6 months from Christmas Day, for a summer village community event, 'Ho Ho Holiday'.
This is all subject to a complete lifting of Covid 19 restrictions on social distancing and socialising.
Frodsham Nub News aims to support our community, promoting shops, businesses, charities, clubs and sports groups.

WELCOME to 2021. It's a lot like 2020.
Since the last Local Democracy Reporting Service weekend feature on Covid-19, on December 12, Cheshire has been moved up a Tier — twice — seen one council desperately appeal for school openings to be left with them, and a new national lockdown imposed.
We're staying close by for this week's walk, taking a gentle stroll round the sleepy back lanes of Mouldsworth, home of the iconic Mouldsworth Motor Museum.
Located in the Art Deco surrounds of a former water softening plant, this museum was a trip through the ages of motoring history, its impressive collection of vintage cars and memorabilia providing a popular subject for many TV news reports and articles over the years.

The authority has defended its record on the applications, after new data showed a 'shocking disparity' in the rate of approval for some kinds of disabilities.
