Cheshire West and Chester Council has said that it will be working with local partners this summer to ensure that children and young people in the borough have access to healthy food and fun activities over the holidays.
The Government's Holiday Activities and Food programme (HAF), which is backed by the Child Food Poverty Taskforce and supported by footballer Marcus Rashford MBE, has provided funding for provision across the borough to cover the Easter, summer and Christmas holidays in 2021.

Frodsham's Weaver Words Festival is finally making a come-back after the coronavirus pandemic forced not one but two cancellations.
Between 1 and 5 September 2021, the Festival will offer a packed programme of events, talks and workshops, with special guests including BBC radio legend Mark Radcliffe and Manchester poet Michael Symmons Roberts.

Frodsham Town Council Amenities Committee has this week elected Cllr Phil Griffiths as its Chair for the coming year.
Cllr Bernie Wade, who was recently elected as Chair of the Council Events Committee, will serve as Vice Chair.

Frodsham's local Cheshire West Councillors are inviting the town's residents to join them in 2022 by coming together for a Big Frodsham Thank You.
"2022 is a going to be a big year for Britain as we celebrate the Platinum Jubilee, marking the 70 years since her Majesty became Queen and leader of the Commonwealth," said Lynn.

The Helsby and Elton Practice has notified patients that they will still need to observe hygiene and social distancing measures while inside the building after Monday 19 July.

The summer holidays are fast approaching and, with trips away looking a bit more difficult this year, we thought it would be useful to put together a list of some of the fun children's activities happening in the Frodsham and Helsby area.
Last Sunday (11 July), hundreds of people came from far and wide to visit the gardens of Manley Knoll, a beautiful house nestled in the countryside around Simmondshill Wood.
Through this National Open Garden Scheme event, visitors were able to explore the house's six acres of beautiful gardens, which flow through a variety of themes and styles, including ornamental ponds, woodland walks and a magical folly garden.
