Frodsham Town Council Events Committee will soon be inviting local residents to form part of a working group aimed at organising a post-Covid town event.
At last night's (Tuesday 9 March) meeting, members of the Committee discussed initial ideas for the occasion, which will hopefully take place in the late summer or early autumn.
By this time, the majority of residents should have had their second Covid-19 vaccine.
Committee Chair, Cllr Ryan McKeown, said: "We want something that broadly appeals to everybody: a weekend, a week or a month of different events. We don't want to just target it at one demographic."
Cllr Bernie Wade suggested that the event might resemble the old Frodsham Carnival, which took place on the first weekend in September.
Cllr Pat Williamson added: "I remember bringing my children over to Frodsham for the Carnival because it was a big event every year.
"It was a really good day and I think we need to get back to those traditions. Children need to remember things like that so they have those memories when they grow up."
It was then agreed that a working group, headed up initially by Cllr McKeown, would be formed, enabling Frodsham residents to play their part in organising the event.
Information regarding registration to the working group will be available shortly on the Frodsham Town Council website.
