In the week leading up to 9th December, there were 7 new Covid-19 cases in Frodsham, two more than in the previous week.

This means that, after that seven day period, Frodsham's coronavirus rate stood at 76.3 per 100,000 residents, well below the average UK rate, which was 181 per 100,000.

In the same week, the Helsby and Kingsley area recorded a drop in cases, with four new infections resulting in a rolling rate of 43.1 per 100,000 residents.

In the seven days leading up to 14th December, there were 441 new cases in Cheshire West as a whole, marking an increase of 55 cases on the previous week and putting the coronavirus infection rate at 111.1.

The number of Covid-related deaths also rose last week from 15 to 32.

Tomorrow (Wednesday 16th December), the government will review the tier restrictions imposed on the country's local authorities, and Cheshire West's Covid-19 Outbreak Board have said that our borough is expected to remain in Tier 2.
