A Town Councillor vacancy has arisen in Waterside ward following the resignation of Cllr Lucy Sumner.
During her time as a Councillor, Ms Sumner has been an active participant in community initiatives. Eager to highlight the value of our local green spaces, she has always championed Frodsham's parks and woodland.
She has also been a key player in the Green Gates Community Project, which has spent the last few years campaigning against the sale of the Ship Street play area to housing developers.
Recently, she has worked with local resident Pauline Lowrie, helping to distribute clothes donations from local residents among refugee families across Cheshire.
After Ms Sumner was temporarily excluded from last week's Town Council Budget Setting by being moved into the 'waiting room', members of the public raised concerns over the way meetings are being conducted.
It is hoped that their representations will be discussed at next week's Full Council meeting.
An election will only be called to fill the vacancy left by Ms Sumner if 10 electors from Waterside ward write to Cheshire West's Returning Officer within the next two weeks to request a vote.
In the event of no election being called, the Town Council will fill the vacancy by co-option.
More information can be found on the Town Council website.
Frodsham Nub News has contacted Ms Sumner for comment.
