Helsby Parish Council has agreed to match police grant funding for community safety projects.

In November 2020, Cheshire's Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), David Keane, launched a fund to be distributed among initiatives in the county's 122 policing communities.

The aim was to support new, one-off projects that left a legacy as opposed to continuous year-on-year commitments.

During December's Parish Council meeting, Helsby's PCSO, Lauren Davies, observed that any allocation from the PCC would need to be match funded.

Parish Councillors therefore resolved to contribute £500 to a road safety campaign and bike marking scheme in the village.
