Nursery Practitioners and Nursery Assistants
Frodsham's Ashton House Nursery are looking for Level 2/3 Nursery Practitioners and assistants to join their team.
Main responsibilities:
- Ensure that all children attending the setting are kept safe and to provide every child with the freedom to connect with nature, take risks and test out their ideas through authentic 'hands on' experiences.
- Observe, support and extend children learning.- Plan appropriately for children using the EYFS framework.
- Maintain accurate and effective observations, tracking support sheets, planning and children's Learning Journey.- Work in partnership with parents/carers and other family members.
- Demonstrate good practice with regard to special needs and inclusion.- Ensuring that all legislation in relation to special needs, safeguarding and Health and Safety is complied with.
The ideal applicant should have:
- A relevant level 2/3 qualification in childcare
- An excellent knowledge of the EYFS and experience of working with children and families- Extensive knowledge of safeguarding
- Experience of working in partnership with parents and outside agencies.- Training can be provided for unqualified candidates.

Foodbank Manager
The position of Foodbank Manager at Runcorn and District Foodbank is becoming available in the new year.
This is a part-time, salaried role and training will be given. After appointment there will also be a handover period with the present manager before he retires.
The successful candidate will be required to work 20 hours a week, Monday to Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 10am–2pm.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operation of Runcorn and District Foodbank, with concern for its operational efficiency and standards in accordance with The Trussell Trust franchise model.
- Report to the charity's trustees bi-monthly or at such special meetings as the trustees may call.- Advise the trustees of exceptional events, such as complaints, major press contacts, accidents, external evaluations or risk to reputation.
- Chair meetings of the management team providing an agenda and, where necessary, a report inadvance.
- Comply with the terms of the foodbank franchise, including standard operating procedures.- Liaise with the (volunteer) warehouse manager to monitor stocks levels, issuing appeals as necessary.
- Be familiar with the on-line data system, monitoring the key data indicators.- Communicate with referral agencies in response to queries or issues.
- Undertake the annual Quality Assurance visit from The Trussell Trust.- Visit the distribution centres in Runcorn and Frodsham on a regular basis.
- Liaise with Halton Borough Council on issues with Warehouse/Office premises.- Complete building tests, meterage figures and health and safety inspections on a weekly/monthly basis.
- Support industry in volunteering – liaise with local companies, etc and supervise visits.- Represent the foodbank at various forums promoting its work and raising its profile within the community.
- Issue press releases as appropriate, and respond to local press enquiries. Requirements: - Ability to manage and monitor the development of a project.- Experience of managing people.
- Experience of working or volunteering in an organisation that deploys volunteers.- Good oral communication.
- Driver with clean licence.- Confident user of email, word processing and internet.
- Ability to work independently and unsupervised.- Numerate and comfortable interpreting statistical data.
- Honesty and integrity.- Empathy and ability to work with people from disadvantaged, marginalised, or socially excluded backgrounds.
- Passionate about tackling poverty.- A sound understanding of, and experience of engagement with, Churches and Christians of different
