The owner of Eleanor's Gifts is hoping to bring a smile to some faces in Frodsham, with her new love letter project.

In a bid to inject some joy into these difficult lockdown days, Eleanor is asking people to write a single page love letter to anyone they wish, which she will hang in the window of her shop.

The plan is to lift people's spirits by showing that even when we're apart, love really is all around.

"I was driving to the shop to change the window from its Christmas display," Eleanor explains. "And someone on the radio was talking about Valentine's Day and love letters.

"It was then that I considered a better use for my large picture window. Perhaps I could suggest that my friends and customers write a love letter to someone special: a friend, partner, husband, parent, child, baby or relative who is with us today or who had passed on.

"[The letters would] just include their first name and be signed by the author's first name, so that passers-by could perhaps read words of love which, who knows, might bring healing to them and raise their spirit.

"I hope people can read them and be inspired, touched, uplifted and moved by your wonderful words," she concluded.

Eleanor has already received her first letter, and is hoping to fill her window with the same kind and caring words.

If you wish to take part in this thoughtful project, you can either post your letter to Eleanor's Gifts, 69 Main Street, Frodsham, WA6 7DF, or simply pop it through the post box.
