Work is well underway to make Manley Road Copse a more welcoming place for local residents to enjoy.
On Wednesday (17 March), Frodsham Town Council Amenities Committee agreed to hire a contractor to carry out maintenance on the Copse, which is already looking neater.
On Friday, the hedges were trimmed, the brambles cut back and any litter collected. Meanwhile, the paths were laid with woodchip to prevent them from growing muddy.
Manley Road Copse's new look has been welcomed by residents and passers-by, who can now safely use the pavement without being forced onto the road by the overgrown hedgerow.
It is hoped that Manley Road Copse will continue to provide an inviting space for residents to visit, as Frodsham Town Council discuss the creation of a 'Friends of Manley Road Copse' to help manage the site's maintenance.
At Wednesday's meeting, Frodsham WI member Vivien Shaw suggested that her organisation might be able to fulfil that role.
Frodsham WI have already planted several trees around the Copse, which you will no doubt notice if you stop by.
