What's On in Frodsham: March 2021

Lockdown continues for now, but it won't be long now until Frodsham's sports clubs, Arts Centre and cultural events can begin to welcome visitors once again.

Here's a list of the activities available this month to help you get through the wait!

Manley Virtual Spring Fair

Monday 1 – Monday 15 March

Manley Virtual Spring Fair is an opportunity to indulge in some online retail therapy from local and not-so-local businesses.

With sections covering accessories, children, food and drink, homeware, gifts and more, there is something to interest everyone.

Free month of online yoga with Callie Yoga

Working Women in Cheshire – Cheshire West Museums

While we wait to be able to visit museums once again, CWAC Museums have moved one of their exhibitions online for you to enjoy in the comfort of your own home.

Working Women in Cheshire explores how women's work changed dramatically during the first half of the twentieth century, and highlights the essential role women played in keeping the county (and country) going during the first and second World Wars.

Disappearing World by Gillian Robertson – Castle Park Arts Centre

Wednesday 24 February – Sunday 4 April

Disappearing World is a series of 26 paintings exploring a local landscape transformed by the effects of climate change.

Flora by Textiles in the Park – Castle Park Arts Centre

Wednesday 24 February – Sunday 4 April

Created by a group of local textile artists, Flora is an exhibition of work all inspired by the woodlands and parkland of Marbury & Anderton Country Park.

The paintings are currently being shown online and can be viewed on the Castle Park Arts Centre Facebook page.

Trio: Three Seasons, Three Styles by Maggie Hilditch – Castle Park Arts Centre

Wednesday 24 February – Sunday 4 April

Trio is an exploration of three artistic styles, reflecting three creative seasons in the life of artist, Maggie Hilditch.

Ranging over open landscapes, intricate flowers and 'boxed-in' abstracts, its varied moods echo changing experiences and interests.

Hub Studios exhibition – Castle Park Arts Centre

Wednesday 24 February – Sunday 4 April

Brought to you by Liverpool-based art collective, Hub Studios, this exhibition displays a great variety of different styles and subjects, from animals, to musicians to cityscapes.

The paintings are currently being shown online and can be viewed on the Castle Park Arts Centre Facebook page.

Local sports facilities reopen!

Monday 29 March

From 29 March, outdoor sports facilities will be able to reopen under the government's roadmap out of lockdown.

This means that local thrill seekers can return to Hover Force Adventure Activity Centre, and Helsby Community Sports Club can open their new 3G pitch, tennis courts and bowling green for the first time!
