A new local business is bringing a new meaning to the classic Friday night takeaway with its artisan grazing boards.

Launched at the beginning of June by Rebecca Parsons, Pip & Olive uses the finest ingredients to create delicious boxes bursting with cheeses, meats, olives, chutneys and pâtés, perfect for a birthday dinner or date night.

Rebecca came up with the graze box idea while considering how she might adapt her catering skills to the restrictions of the coronavirus pandemic.

"Before I had my children," she explains, "I had a company that catered parties and weddings with large grazing tables.

"When I returned to work the possibility of large parties was on hold, so we looked at a way we could adapt, and that's how we came up with the idea of the delivered graze box!

"The name Pip & Olive is a mixture of our daughter's nickname and my Grandmas name.

Selecting many of her ingredients from local independent suppliers such as Whitmore & White and Burt's Cheese in Knutsford, Rebecca can provide both meat and vegetarian graze box options.

Since Pip & Olive began, local residents have been snapping up its artisan creations, which have sold out for three weeks in a row.

"We're still catering for small parties," Rebecca says, "we actually catered a wedding for 30 people on the weekend!

"However, we're really trying to concentrate on the delivery boxes at the moment as we know it brings people a little bit of joy in such difficult times.

"The response had been phenomenal so far! One of the things I love about this area is the sense of community and how people really embrace and support local business.

"We hope to offer even more delivery slots in the coming weeks and can't wait to get back to catering parties and events."

Based in Alvanley, Pip & Olive offers free delivery within five miles of Frodsham, with a small additional fee for customers outside of that area.
