Last night (Wednesday), whilst patrolling Frodsham Marshes, officers from the Rural Crime Team located a suspicious vehicle on one of the many connecting roads on the marsh.

Officers boxed the vehicle in, and while undertaking background checks, observed high-powered lamps, nets and a Lurcher type dog. Further investigation showed the vehicle to be uninsured.

The vehicle was searched using powers in relation to poaching offences, as was the driver.

When examining the underneath of the vehicle, a purple tube was discovered, containing a green substance. On closer inspection this proved to be a concealed amount of cannabis.

As a result, the vehicle was seized for no insurance and the driver summoned to court in relation to possessing cannabis and driving without insurance (enquires are still ongoing in relation to this point).
