Frodsham and Helsby residents who are currently out of work can seek support and guidance from the New Leaf project.

New Leaf is a programme designed to unemployed people to feel more work ready and receive help to achieve their employment or training aspirations.

Through the initiative, individuals can access one-to-one appointments with a mentor who will work with them to reach their goals, whether this be in building confidence, honing work skills, writing a CV or mastering interview techniques.

New Leaf mentors can also help with job searches and training opportunities.

In addition to this, the service offers financial advice on maximising benefits and earnings and managing personal budgets.

"We have a large number of success stories and have helped hundreds of people over the past few years to become more work ready and to gain employment or training," said New Leaf's Nicola Cottrell.

Before the Covid-19 pandemic began, Nicola had planned to run appointments from Frodsham Library, and hopes that this will go ahead once restrictions allow. Until then, one-to-one sessions will take place over the phone.

If you would like to find out more, you are welcome to email Nicola at [email protected], phone her on 07776 497153 or visit the New Leaf website.
