Helsby Parish Council to co-opt new North Ward Councillor

Helsby Parish Council is to co-opt a new councillor for the village's North Ward following the resignation of Cllr John Kimpton.

Cllr Kimpton stepped down in February following a 'stalwart and long-serving input to the Council'.

No election was called for the resulting vacancy, and so a co-option can now take place.

This follows the co-option of Cllr Paul Standing, who was appointed to represent Central Ward at a Parish Council meeting on Monday 8 February.

If a new councillor is co-opted, they will join existing North Ward Councillors Sarah Temple, Alan Gardner and Alan Fincham.

The next Parish Council meeting will take place on Monday 12 April.
