Cllr Judith Critchley will remain in her role as Chair of Frodsham Town Council for the foreseeable future, according to correspondence referenced during a Full Council meeting on Monday 22 March.
This comes after Cllrs Ryan McKeown, Phil Griffiths, Bill Stockton, Bernie Wade, Caroline Ashton and Helen Hayes voted in favour of a motion of no confidence in the Chair on Wednesday 24 February.
Following this vote, from which Cllrs Mark Nield, Donna Critchley, Pat Williamson and former Councillor Mallie Poulton abstained, Cllr Critchley said she would 'reflect' on the result before the next Council meeting.
At Monday's meeting, Cllr Griffiths said: "Cllr Critchley sent out an email [on Sunday] saying she is going to sit and last the year out.
"Personally I think that just shows the contempt with which she holds this Council and the people of Frodsham."
Cllr Critchley was not able to attend the meeting and so did not respond to this statement.
A member of the public expressed his disappointment that Cllr Critchley was not present to convey her decision and the reasons for it in person.
Cllr Critchley has been contacted for comment.
