In the week leading up to February 11, coronavirus case numbers fell across almost all Cheshire West wards, including Frodsham and its surrounding villages.
In Frodsham, 14 new cases marked a decrease of 39 per cent on the week before and resulted in a rolling rate of 153 per 100,000 residents.
In that week, Helsby, Kingsley, Manley and Alvanley recorded 11 infections between them. The Covid-19 rate for the area encompassing these villages now sits at 118 per 100,000, the lowest it has been since mid December.
This downward trend was echoed across west Cheshire, with only a few pockets reporting a rise in the number of new infections.
With 482 positive cases in the seven days up to 11 Feb, the borough's rate is now 147.5 per 100,000.
While this reflects a decrease of 20 per cent, Covid-related deaths and hospitalisations in Cheshire West have both fallen by around 30 per cent.
By this time last week, 75,500 people in Cheshire West had had at least one dose of the Covid vaccine, as healthcare teams closed in on the mid February deadline for the top four priority groups.
Work has now begun on vaccinating the over-65s, as well as clinically vulnerable adults. If you belong to either of these groups and have not yet had your first dose, please make an appointment by visiting the NHS website or calling 119.
