For the third week running, the number of new coronavirus cases arising in Frodsham, Helsby and the surrounding villages in the seven days up to 28 April remained below three.

This is echoed across west Cheshire, where nearly all towns and villages also reported 'suppressed' rates in the past week.

In no Cheshire West and Chester Council area were more than three infections recorded.

The week in question saw 33 positive cases across the whole borough, making for a rate of 9.6 per 100,000 people, down 34 per cent on previous seven day period.

As such, Cheshire West's rolling rate remains below the national average of 23 per 100,000 of the population.

Meanwhile, the vaccination rollout continues apace, with 66 per cent of over-45s having already received their first dose. 170,000 second doses have also been administered across the county, covering 22 per cent of the population.

Overall, 577,054 vaccine doses have been received in the Cheshire NHS Clinical Commissioning Group area, and over-40s are now being invited to come forward for theirs.

To arrange a vaccination appointment, you can visit the national booking service or call 119.
