Home Instead CAREGiver celebrates 10 years working with Frodsham seniors

Home Instead Senior Care Frodsham, Runcorn and Widnes thank Olwen, who has just marked her tenth anniversary working as a CAREGiver.

Throughout the coronavirus pandemic, our CAREGivers have continued tirelessly in their work with our Clients, providing them with vital care and companionship.

Today, we celebrate the work of Olwen who has been a CAREGiver with Home Instead Frodsham, Runcorn and Widnes for the past 10 years.

In this time, Olwen has offered her Clients home help, personal care and perhaps most importantly, friendship.

Olwen said: "I retired in 2011 from my job as a school Science Technician but found I didn't like the isolation of retirement.

"When I discovered Home Instead, the job as a CAREGiver sounded perfect for me, with the part time hours fitting in and around my lifestyle.

"The training I received was exceptional and gave me the confidence I needed to start visiting Clients within the community.

"This is not a 'job' to me. I thoroughly enjoy the feeling of being able to help and I find being a CAREGiver so rewarding. I offer help and companionship to all my Clients whilst still having fun, and I gain so much back from them in return.

"No two days are ever the same. Sometimes I am supporting with washing and dressing for the day, and on other days I am assisting with shopping trips or going out for lunch.

"Sometimes I am just there to have a chat, but whatever the type of call, we always manage to have a laugh! I wake up every morning and I know I make a difference to someone's life."
