Helsby Tennis Club have been named runners up in the Lawn Tennis Association's Club of the Year awards.

Helsby were placed second out of a massive 2,600 entries for their focus on community and inclusivity.

Earlier this year, Helsby sailed through the Cheshire and North West competitions, being praised for their "great coaching programme, phenomenal growth and amazing development of the new site."

During the pandemic, Helsby has successfully introduced trial memberships, taster sessions and meet-and-greets, encouraging the whole community to get involved with the sport and thus increasing their membership by 40 per cent.
