Daniel Axworthy, Andrew Winter and David Leslie recorded the third movement of Bach's Concerto for Two Violins in D minor

Local musicians, Daniel Axworthy, Andrew Winter and David Leslie, were recently in St Laurence Church, recording their performance of Bach's Concerto for Two Violins in D minor as part of L'Orchestra dell'Arte's online music series.

With Daniel and Andrew playing the violin and David Leslie delivering the keyboard continuo, the ensemble's recording of the third movement of Bach's 1730 work is now available to view on YouTube.

The Kindness Board would aim to brighten people's day through positive messages

Frodsham resident Helen Watson is encouraging the town's pubs, restaurants and cafés to put up 'kindness boards' inside their premises, in order to brighten people's day in these difficult times.

"I'm asking local businesses to display a kindness board where people, especially those without Internet, can read positive messages, hand written by Frodsham folk who have seen or heard of an act of kindness," said Helen, via her Wacky Watsons Waterside Kindness Board on Facebook.

There were 17 confirmed Covid-19 cases in Frodsham last week, and 7 in Helsby

In the week commencing 5th October, Cheshire West and Chester Council recorded 17 positive Covid-19 cases amongst Frodsham residents, and seven in Helsby.

In the previous week, there had been seven positive tests amongst residents in Frodsham, and six in Helsby. These new infections bring Frodsham's coronavirus rate to 180.75 per 100,000 people, and Helsby's to 140.79.

Shamma's exhibition, Modern Slavery, can be viewed until October 23rd

Frodsham Churches Together have been working with Chester Cathedral to raise awareness of the prevalence of human trafficking ahead of Anti-Slavery Day on October 18th.

As part of this campaign, the Cathedral is playing host to an exhibition from London-based Syrian artist Sara Shamma, which is entitled Modern Slavery and can be viewed in the Cathedral Chapter House until October 23rd.

The Cheshire Cheese looks set to close

Frodsham's Cheshire Cheese pub will most likely be closing its doors to the public after a planning application to build housing on the site was recently approved.

The application, which was first submitted in November 2019, involves the erection of six dwellings and the conversion of the pub to create a further dwelling, with associated access, parking and amenity space.
