Fantastic Mrs Fox is joined by Badger

This weekend marked the beginning of Helsby's Ho Ho Scarecrow event, which involves a trail of over 70 displays made by village residents.

For this, the second year of the scarecrow trail, the theme is Children's Books, and so participants were tasked with recreating characters or scenes from their favourite childhood stories.

House fire on Wayford Close

The fire was reported shortly before 3 pm yesterday

Five fire crews attended a blaze in a house on Wayford Close yesterday at 3 pm.

Crews from Widnes, Runcorn, Penketh, Lymm and Chester, along with an aerial appliance from Chester, were called to the semi-detached house, where the fire was quickly spreading to the next door property.

Cheshire West and Chester Council are calling for enhanced government support

Councillors from across Cheshire West and Chester's political divide have approved a move to lobby government for more coronavirus support.

The motion, which was proposed by Labour leader Cllr Louise Gittins and seconded by Conservative group chief Cllr Margaret Parker, received widespread support at this week's CWAC full council meeting.
