Helsby FC First Team were at home against Chester Nomads Reserves on Saturday (12th), who they beat 4-3.

Helsby FC's Duncan Cowley said that Helsby were "dominant from the whistle," surging into a three goal lead in the first 20 minutes.

By half time Helsby were 4-1 up, with goals from Jamie Hayes (2) Tom Turkington and Paul Seddon and impressive defence from Greg Campbell.

Helsby began the second half with the same energy and dynamism, but swiftly lost Campbell and goalkeeper Dylan Cross to injury. The Nomads started to creep back, scoring two further goals within 10 minutes, and leaving Helsby hanging on with 20 minutes to go.

"It was edge of the seat stuff with the Green Army looking at their watches asking how long left ref?" Duncan said.

"The seconds feel like hours but Helsby hang on for the win; an amazing two games and two wins for Helsby FC this season!"
