Helsby FC victorious once again against Sutton Athletic

After Saturday's incredible victory in the quarter-final of the Shield Cup, last night (Tuesday), Helsby FC once again entertained Sutton Athletic in the league at the "Colosseum of Confrontation" - I am determined for this name to stick!

The game started well for Helsby with Greg, Nathan and Jack pulling the Sutton defence all over the place.

Then, totally against play Sutton scored and it was so reminiscent of their first goal on Saturday. Once again the bizarre goal celebrations rattled the hornets nest and within minutes Helsby were winning 2-1 with goals from Jack and Gregg.

Helsby were now making chance after chance with Jamie H only inches from more goals when there came a "horror" tackle on Gregg, who hobbled off the pitch.

On half time Nathan slid the ball home to make it 3-1 and Helsby were resurgent. The second half started in the same vein and Helsby were sublime - lovely play to feet with patience and style and Zak flying down the left wing swinging dangerous cross after dangerous cross into the box.

Helsby were soon 5-1 up with goals from Jamie and a penalty by Jack. Another goal by Jamie at the end made the score 6-1.

So many superb performances by the Green Army - this team is very special in my opinion but I just want to mention Jack Sam who has gained such confidence in the last few games and is playing so well.

The future is bright the future is green (or yellow tonight!).
