In the seven days up to January 7, the coronavirus infection rate in Frodsham and Helsby remained below the average for Cheshire West and the country as a whole.
In Frodsham, 35 new cases marked an increase of 14 on the previous week, putting the town's rolling rate at 382 per 100,000 people.

Frodsham Town Council has approved its budgets for the coming year (2021/22), agreeing a more than 20 per cent reduction in residents' precept payment.
The precept is the yearly sum requested by the Town Council to help it meet its spending requirements. It is then converted into an amount per council tax band and collected by the borough council as part of your council tax bill.

A new £1.6 million housing development on Springfield Avenue in Helsby is now underway.
The project, which will provide 11 new homes, including two and three-bedroom properties for affordable rent, is being delivered by Weaver Vale Housing Trust and M & Y Maintenance and Construction.
An online book of reflection has been introduced by Cheshire West and Chester Council, to remember all those who have lost their lives during the pandemic.
The book gives local people the chance to share their messages of reflection, condolence, hope and gratitude.

The police have been made aware that graffiti has been sprayed on a wall and on some zebra crossing beacons in the Waterside Area.

Sainsbury's has now joined Morrisons in clamping down on shoppers who refuse to wear a face mask when required to do so.
The supermarket chain also announced that it would be stationing trained security guards at store entrances to ensure that - unless exempt - people are both wearing a mask and shopping alone.
