Our Frodsham Hero for this week is Waterside resident, Helen Watson, who has been working tirelessly over recent weeks and months to make Saltworks Farm Playing Fields an inclusive and welcoming place for the whole community to enjoy.

As well as engaging with young people who use the park, Helen, along with other local residents, has pushed repeatedly for its skate park lights to be fixed so that the area can be used safely after dark during the winter months.

Saltworks Farm Playing Fields

Cheshire West and Chester Council's Cabinet is set to decide on how services relating to wildflowers, parks, green spaces and outdoor play areas will operate in the borough in the future.

At its meeting on Wednesday 9 June, cabinet members will discuss three proposed Environmental Management Strategies, which cover parks and green spaces; wildflowers and grasslands; plus a review of the existing Play Strategy.

Catton Hall Outdoor Activity Centre on Bradley Lane has submitted an application for a Lawful Development Certificate (LDC), confirming the legality of the use of its land for clay pigeon shooting, quad trekking, paintball games, archery and air rifling.

An LDC is sought when an individual or organisation seeks proof that the existing use of a building or site is lawful for planning purposes.
