Local gymnastics academy, AK Elite, has announced that it will soon be returning to Frodsham Leisure Centre for the first time this year, following months of Covid-induced delays.

The club will now be back at the centre in September - with exact dates to be confirmed soon - welcoming members old and new to its children's gymnastics sessions.

Now that the warmer weather has finally arrived, Cheshire West and Chester Council will be carrying out surface dressing and resurfacing works on some roads in the local area.

The process of surface dressing involves spraying the road with a layer of hot liquid bitumen (known as a binder) and then covering it with loose stone chippings. The dressing is then rolled, which together with the actions of slow moving traffic, embeds the stone chips into the road surface.

Saltworks skate park

After being switched off for over six years, the floodlights at Saltworks skate park have finally been repaired and turned on by Cheshire West and Chester Council, thanks in large part to the work of Waterside resident and Kindness Café creator, Helen Watson.

"However, what the Council have found is that the lights aren't really adequate for the area," Helen adds. "So within the next few months they're going to improve the lighting even more, which is really good."
