Cheshire West and Chester are preparing to phase in rapid testing for some people in the borough

Cheshire West and Chester Council are gearing up to phase in lateral flow testing for priority groups in the borough.

In yesterday's Covid-19 Outbreak Board meeting, Council Director of Public Health, Ian Ashworth, pointed out that Cheshire West sits within one of the areas chosen to trial lateral flow testing of the type we have seen rolled out in Liverpool.

There were 28 new cases confirmed in Frodsham last week

The coronavirus infection rate in our area has risen for the second week in a row, despite the current lockdown restrictions.

In the week leading up to Saturday November 14th, Frodsham was the only local ward where fewer infections were recorded than the previous seven day period. 28 new cases brought the town's coronavirus rate to 301.37 per 100,000 people, a slight decrease on the 333.66 of the week before.
