Cllr Riley said that work is still underway to provide a Covid testing facility in Frodsham

Plans to deliver a walk-in Covid-19 test centre in Frodsham are still ongoing, according to ward councillor, Lynn Riley.

At a Frodsham Town Council meeting on Monday 23rd November, Cllr Riley said: "We had the green light to go and then unfortunately when they came to do the final survey the car park behind the leisure centre, which had been earmarked for this because of its proximity to the medical centre, was deemed to be unsuitable, largely because of the state of the car park and the many puddles in the very uneven surface.

The British elm tree population was decimated by Dutch elm disease in the 1960s and 1970s

Hob Hey Wood Friends have won a disease-resistant elm tree from The Tree Council, which will hopefully help a now rare butterfly to thrive in the wood.

In the mid 1960s, a virulent strain of Dutch elm disease arrived in the UK, killing off millions of elm trees and destroying the habitat of over 90 per cent of the country's white-letter hairstreak butterfly population.

Santa is coming to Helsby!

Rail services from Frodsham station might soon be benefitting from a series of improvement schemes proposed by local authority leaders across North Wales, Cheshire West and the Wirral.
