Now that the warmer weather has finally arrived, Cheshire West and Chester Council will be carrying out surface dressing and resurfacing works on some roads in the local area.

The process of surface dressing involves spraying the road with a layer of hot liquid bitumen (known as a binder) and then covering it with loose stone chippings. The dressing is then rolled, which together with the actions of slow moving traffic, embeds the stone chips into the road surface.

In Frodsham, work on the stretch of the A56 that runs between Woodhouses Lane and Tarvin Road is set to take place on Tuesday 29 and Wednesday 30 June. The road will be closed on these days from 9:30am until 3pm.

Before the surface dressing begins, preparations will be carried out on a date that is yet to be confirmed. This will result in a night time closure of the road.

In Kingsley, Waterloo Lane will also be treated on Wednesday 30 June.

During these dates the road will be closed with no through route; access will only be for residents
