Rural crime on the rise, say Cheshire Police

Cheshire Police's Rural Crime Team have noticed an increased in the number of thefts occurring in the county's rural areas, especially around farms.

There have been reports of smaller metal items like livestock feeders and metal gates being stolen

"Please check around your security regularly and that equipment that you don't use as often is still there and secure," said the Rural Crime Team.

"Members of the team continue to look for and stop vehicles whilst out on patrol if they are carrying these type of items to ensure everything is correct."
