Queens Head pub to offer free breakfasts for children over half term

For the next week, Frodsham's Queens Head pub will be providing free breakfasts for any child who would normally receive free school meals.

"We don't want to see any child go hungry this half term," said the pub via its Facebook page.

"So along with our new Breakfast opening hours, from Monday we want to provide a free child's breakfast (when accompanied by an adult) to any child in the local area who may need it throughout [the holidays]."

Customers who are eligible for these free meals may request them through a private message when they book a table, so helping the pub to respect their privacy at all times.

This comes as the government rejected, by 322 votes to 261, a Labour motion to continue directly funding provision of free school meals over the school holidays until Easter 2021, which was debated on Wednesday (21st October).

From Saturday, 24th October, the Queens Head will be open from 10am - and 9am on Market Day - serving breakfast, in a bid to tackle the impact of the 10pm curfew.
