Part of M56 closed following serious collision

The M56 eastbound between junctions 12 (Liverpool Airport, Runcorn, Widnes) and 11 (Runcorn East, Warrington) is currently closed following a 'serious collision'.
Police, traffic officers and recovery are currently at the scene.
It was reported at 8am this morning that vehicles were experiencing delays of up to 37 minutes, with six miles of congestion on approach.
