Today (Thursday 4 March) is World Book Day, a chance for local children to celebrate the wonder of stories and reading as they receive a book of their own.
This year's event may have been different to normal, but that didn't stop Frodsham's local schools from putting on a fun-filled day of literary activities.
Many pupils dressed up for the occasion, transforming into Gangsta Grannies, Wimpy Kids, Harry Potter characters, princesses and superheroes.
Classes from Frodsham CE and Helsby Hillside Primary Schools have been busy decorating potatoes as their favourite book characters. Teachers saw some really inventive creations, ranging from a Mr Tickle with pipe-cleaner arms to a tiger coming for tea.
Our personal favourite was a Gruffalo Mouse, complete with wiry whiskers!
Kingsley Community, Frodsham CE and Weaver Vale Primary Schools also took part in their own 'Masked Reader' challenge, where pupils had to guess the identity of ingeniously disguised staff members.
You can watch Frodsham Weaver Vale's Masked Reader challenge in the above video.
At Horn's Mill Primary School, Team 2 enjoyed a chocolaty treat from their very own Bruce Bogtrotter, also known as Mrs Noden! Meanwhile, at Frodsham Manor House, Carroll Class got stuck into making a Gruffalo crumble.
Frodsham Manor House pupils also enjoyed story challenge sessions with children's writer, Gareth Baker, who gave them lots of tips to help bring their own stories to life.
Having been inspired by Gareth's ideas, pupils got creative with loo roll cores, fashioning the plain cardboard into their favourite book characters. Their designs included Dennis the Menace and Gnasher, and a big-eared BFG with his friend Sophie.
