Ex air stewards Paul Jones and Adrian Leary are on cloud nine as their Frodsham interiors, gift and coffee store, Me & Mr Jones, celebrates its first birthday this weekend.

Paul and Ade - a couple in life as well as business - have worked together for many years, previously as stewards with Thomas Cook, and are now the perfect hosts at their own premises at Frodsham Station on Platform 2.

"We are so proud of everything we've achieved over the last 12 months - not least navigating through the previously uncharted territory of social media, which neither of us had any experience with," they said.

"Since opening, our original business plan has been turned completely upside down.

"The gift and interiors have been so well received we've decided to concentrate our efforts there and carry on with takeout drinks / cakes. The sit-in coffee shop is now on hold indefinitely.

"We treat our customers exactly as we did on the aircraft - with a warm welcome, genuine smiles and a little cheeky banter thrown in for good measure!

"We are making a name for ourselves as purveyors of high quality goods and by offering impeccable service - something often sadly lacking these days."

The uniqueness of this pair works so well with their flair for hospitality and their story is testament to the fact that success can come out of adversity.

To celebrate their shop's first birthday, Paul and Ade will be offering half price hot drinks from Saturday (26 June) until Monday (28 June).
