Frodsham care home, Newton Hall, has brought a smile to its residents' faces with the opening of its very own pub, The Newton Arms!

"We recently asked our residents at Newton Hall what they were most looking forward to after lockdown," explained Activities Coordinator, Jane.

"First was obviously seeing family, but second was a trip to a pub for food or a drink.

"So, Home Manager Julia, and I came up with the idea of bringing the pub to them!

"We asked local people and establishments if they would like to donate any items to help create an authentic atmosphere and many obliged.

"Andy from maintenance set about building the bar and slowly but surely, after a lot of time and effort, we finally opened on Friday 30 April.

"This proved a big success with everyone and we are looking forward to many a happy afternoon spent in here."

The Newton Arms will now be used to a number of different activities, including Friday fish 'n' chips with a pint.
