Frodsham Heroes: the Manley Road Copse makeover team!

When we asked for nominations for our Frodsham Heroes feature, several people mentioned Vivien Shaw and Frodsham WI, who have spent the last few months working to transform Manley Road Copse from a 'neglected' space to a community garden for everyone to enjoy.

In March 2021, Frodsham Town Council agreed to fund maintenance work on the Copse by Frodsham Tree Solutions.

This involved the hedges being cut back, paths laid, weeds pulled up, flowers planted and the bench painted.

These tasks were aided greatly by the diligent efforts of Vivien, Cllr Caroline Ashton and other volunteers from Frodsham WI, who have since been making sure that the area is looking spick and span.

Now, there is even an Alice in Wonderland theme developing, with teapots, ornaments and doors small and tall dotted around the garden.

Thanks to the hard work of these ladies, Manley Road Copse is now a welcoming place for families to explore, friends to meet and individuals to come and enjoy the summer sun.

If you would like to share the story of your local Frodsham Heroes, please email [email protected] with your nomination!
