The Higher Heyes housing development in Kingsley has now appeared for sale as part of a shared ownership scheme by Torus Homes.

Comprising four detached bungalows, two semi-detached houses, one detached house and four flats, the development is subject to a 'local connection criteria'.

This means that you can apply for a home at Higher Heyes if:

• You have been resident in Kingsley Parish for 12 months preceding your application for Shared Ownership or have previously resided in Kingsley Parish for a period of at least 5 years

OR

• You have a strong local connection with the Kingsley Parish which is defined as:

  1. Having immediate family (parents, children, siblings) who are currently living in the Kingsley Parish and have done so continuously for at least 5 years
  1. Being permanently employed in the Kingsley Parish Ward or have accepted in writing a firm offer of permanent employment
  1. Being self-employed and able to evidence that the business address is within the Kingsley Parish and has been operational for a minimum of 12 months

The shared ownership scheme means that new residents can part buy part rent a property to get themselves on the property ladder.

Prices on these homes start at £54,000 for a 40 per cent share of a one-bedroom apartment, moving up to £112,000 for a 40 per cent share of a three-bedroom detached house.

The development is expected to be completed in April.
