Frodsham Police have launched their Easter holiday 'Street a Week' scheme

Frodsham Police have launched a new 'Street a Week' initiative aimed at encouraging community engagement and collective problem solving.

Street a Week involves a week-long period of increased police presence at certain streets and public spaces in a town, which, as well as deterring criminal activity, allows police officers work in conjunction with residents to address local issues.

For the first week of the initiative, Frodsham Police have been concentrating on Ship Street and, more specifically, Saltworks Farm Playing Fields, following increased reports of antisocial behaviour in the area.

PCSOs Hewitt and Icke have been patrolling the area, with no incidents to report.

This comes as several local residents make steps to promote Saltworks as a space to be enjoyed by all members of the community. Last week, Waterside resident Helen Watson began a Kindness Café where the playing fields' young users could come to chat over a socially-distanced hot chocolate.
