Cheshire-based construction company, Alexander Cubed Holdings Ltd, has lodged an application to construct four three-storey townhouses behind Fraser House on Bridge Lane.

Under the proposal, Fraser House itself would be retained for office use, while the car park would be refigured and new landscaping introduced.

The new buildings, which would be set 57 metres back from the road, would feature a 'contrasting brick pattern', as well as Juliet balconies and French windows to the rear.

Each house would have three bedrooms, a private driveway and gardens of varying dimensions.

Some of the new dwellings would also have electric vehicle charging points, as well as access to a weatherproof cycle storage unit.

According to the development application, "The proposal responds directly to the need to deliver homes in the urban area and avoid the wasteful resource of highly sustainable land."

Fraser House is a two-storey, Georgian style building which has been extended in recent years.
