Frodsham and Helsby coronavirus update: November 4th 2020

In the week leading up to Saturday 31st October, as the government announced the second national lockdown, the coronavirus rate fell in Frodsham and Helsby.
In Frodsham, there were 23 new cases and a rate of 247.55 per 100,000 residents. In the previous week, there had been 32 infections, making for a rate of 344.42 per 100,000.
Meanwhile, in Helsby, there were nine positive test results, half of the amount reported in the previous week. The coronavirus rate currently sits at 179.86 per 100,000 in the village.
In Gowy Rural and Sandstone wards, the number of Covid cases also dropped, with 14 and 12 new infections respectively. This brought Gowy Rural's rate down from 204.94 to 151.01 per 100,000, and Sandstone's from 427.18 to 244.10 per 100,000.
This downward trend continues across the Cheshire West borough, where a majority of wards recorded at least a small reduction in the number of coronavirus cases reported.
In Cheshire West as a whole, there were 798 new cases in the seven days up to 2nd November, and the rate stands at 233 per 100,000 people.
Cheshire West and Chester Council will be updating the public on the current situation during its Covid-19 Outbreak Board meeting this afternoon (Wednesday 4th November).
