Covid-19 case numbers remain low in the Frodsham area for the moment, although infections rates are rising rapidly in other parts of the borough due to the Delta variant.
In the seven days leading up to June 5, there were three new coronavirus cases recorded in both Frodsham and Helsby wards, making for a rolling rate of 32 and 60 per 100,000 respectively.
Meanwhile, in Sandstone, which comprises Kingsley, Manley, Alvanley, Dunham-on-the-Hill and Hapsford, there were fewer than two infections reported, meaning that rates are still suppressed in this area.
The rolling infection rate for the Frodsham area remains below the Cheshire West and Chester average of 93.6 per 100,000 people, which rose by 300 per cent in the week leading up to 4 June.
This rapid increase is largely down to surging case numbers in areas including Northwich and Winsford, where rates have reached 600 per 100,000 in some areas.
In Cheshire West, 214,000 people – or three quarters of the eligible population - have had their first vaccine dose, with 152,000 having had their second as well.
However there are still 4,500 people over 60 who have not yet had their first dose and 8,500 who haven't had their second.
Cheshire West and Chester Council are therefore "redoubling" their efforts to get people vaccinated, with pop-up clinics having begun to tour local towns.
New figures show that Frodsham residents have been vaccinated in greater numbers than their neighbours elsewhere in Cheshire West, so while these clinics may visit the town soon, they will focus first on areas with a lower vaccine uptake.
