Council launches adult learning disability and autism services consultation

A new consultation has been launched by Cheshire West and Chester Council to look at how adult learning disability and autism services are provided in the borough and how they can be improved.
Cheshire West and Chester Council and NHS Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group want to hear from people with learning disabilities and/or autism, who are 16 years of age and over, their families and carers.
Services being consulted on include:
• Day care services
• Outreach services (also known as home care or domiciliary care)• Supported living services
• Short term care also known as "step up/step down provision"• Short break services (also known as respite services)
• Residential and nursing care services Councillor Val Armstrong, Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care and Public Health said: "This consultation will help us to ensure that people with learning disabilities and/or autism receive good quality community services across the borough. "If you are a person aged 16 or over living with a learning disability and / or autism or care for someone living with a learning disability and / or autism we want to hear from you. "We want to understand what you think about the services you receive and what we can do to improve the quality and experience of those services." Views can be shared in a variety of ways, including via an online survey. People can request a hard copy of the survey, help to complete it, or learn more about taking part in a workshop by calling Cheshire Community Action on 01244 400222.
