Another casual vacancy has arisen on Frodsham Town Council, this time in Waterside ward.

This comes as a result of the resignation of independent member, Lord Frank Pennington, who sat on the Council for 45 years and served twice as Frodsham's Mayor.

Lord Pennington's resignation, which follows those of former Cllrs Judith and Donna Critchley, Mark Nield and Pat Williamson, leaves the Council at near half capacity, with nine members out of a possible 16.

The vacancy left by Lord Pennington will now be filled by election if ten electors write to Cheshire West and Chester Council's Returning Officer before Wednesday 7 July.

In the event of no election being called, the Town Council will fill the vacancy by co-option.
