If you or someone you know in Frodsham and Helsby wants to be a police officer then Cheshire Police says there is no better time than now.

The force is recruiting new officers, with the application window having just opened today (May24).

The force is encouraging everyone - women, people of all ages, people from black and minority ethnic backgrounds, the LGBT+ community and those living with a disability to think about becoming part of the policing family.

Deputy Chief Constable Julie Cooke said: "The front line of policing is a challenging place to be. Could you be there when Cheshire's communities need you most?

"By joining us you can help make a difference to the way we police – simply by being the individual that you are. We're keen to recruit officers with a wide range of personal experiences and a true understanding of Cheshire's different communities and cultures."

"And in return you will be offered a very attractive starting salary and be valued, trusted and empowered to be innovative and make decisions.

"You will become part of a caring policing family, where you can be you."

Through the Constabulary's commitment to diversity, equality and inclusion the force is making sure that Cheshire's community policing better reflects the public it serves.

Cheshire Constabulary recently were awarded 12th most inclusive employer in The Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers List.

Those interested locally should know that they are a living wage employer, and disability confident leader.

DCC Cooke added: "We want great officers and we also encourage individuality. We're committed to recruiting people from a wider range of backgrounds and experiences, and helping them to progress in their careers with us.

"We will give help to those that need it and positive action allows us to lawfully level the playing field for everyone to apply for a career within policing."

"By supporting individuals with protected characteristics and giving them access to support and training in preparation for and throughout our recruitment process, we can help minimise any potential disadvantages they may face during their recruitment journey.

"You can leave an expression of interest for positive action support via the careers pages on our website and a member of our Talent Acquisition Team will be in touch."

The force is expecting a high number of applications and the lines are likely to close early if the maximum number of applications have been received.

The application window will remain open for a minimum of 48 hours, after which Cheshire Constabulary will continually monitor the number of applications they receive to ensure that they are able to manage the recruitment process.

Once the force have received the number of applications required, they will close the recruitment window and no further application form submission will be accepted.

Please note that the application form is no longer a full competency based questionnaire and basic information only is required for the application form submission to be complete.

You can find it here.
