Weaver Vale MP, Mike Amesbury, has seconded Media Minister John Whittingdale's praise for Nub News' community-focused stories.

In a statement to Frodsham Nub News, Mike said: "The decline of local journalism has been a real concern for many years, as a vibrant and independent local press is an absolutely vital part of our communities.

"For this very reason I was saddened to see the closure of a Frodsham newspaper a couple of years ago, I wrote to the CEO of that newspaper group at the time expressing my concerns.

"So with that in mind, it's been great to see Nub News bringing local news to the people of Frodsham, Helsby and surrounding areas."

The local news provider Nub News is now operating in 62 towns across England and Wales, with ambitious plans to be in 100 towns very shortly.
