Delamere Forest featured on BBC Breakfast

By The Editor   18th May 2021

Delamere Forest has appeared on BBC Breakfast as part of a report about the government's promise to build the restoration of our natural habitats and their species into its post-pandemic recovery.

This will involve planting more trees and reinstating 35,000 hectares of peatland, which is why the report included a visit to Delamere's Black Lake.

Black Lake, and its associated bog, is a haven for dragon and damselflies, as well as the green hairstreak butterfly.

There, as the camera soaked up the tranquillity of the forest, the Wildlife Trust's Elliot Chapman-Jones told Victoria Gill how valuable peat bogs are in the fight against climate change.

The full programme can be watched on BBC iPlayer. The segment featuring Delamere Forest appeared at around 8:10am.
